The circumference of the can is greater than the height of the can.

Since the circumference of the can is the same as the circumference of each tennis ball, then the circumference = pi(d). The height of the can is 3d (3 times the diameter of each tennis ball). Pi is more than 3, so 3(pi) > 3d.
